Apollo Energy is an authorized SolarEdge installer serving Denver, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, Boulder, and the rest of the Front Range. SolarEdge Nexis is the company’s next-generation home battery, announced for 2026, built around a stackable block design that lets one system scale from a starter 4.9 kWh unit up to a full 78.4 kWh whole-home installation. We’re taking reservations now so Colorado homeowners can be first in line when installs begin.

Why Nexis Matters for Colorado Homeowners

Colorado’s grid has gotten less predictable, and wildfire-related shutoffs, winter storms, and peak-demand strain on Xcel Energy’s system all point the same direction: homeowners want backup power sized to how they actually live, not a one-size-fits-all box. Nexis is built around that problem. Instead of choosing between an undersized battery that can’t run your air conditioner and an oversized system you overpaid for, you stack only the capacity you need today, and add more blocks later if your needs grow.

How It Works: Stack & Scale Architecture

Nexis is built from individual 4.9 kWh battery blocks that connect together, so the system you install is exactly the system your home needs, not a fixed unit size. A smaller home might run comfortably on two or three blocks; a larger home with a heat pump and EV charging might stack toward the top of the 78.4 kWh range. SolarEdge’s Simple-Click™ architecture is designed to make both the initial install and any future stacking straightforward for a certified installer, which typically means less onsite labor time compared to installing several separate battery units.

Whole-Home Backup, Including Your Air Conditioning

Most home batteries are sized to keep the essentials running, think lights, the fridge, WiFi, but stall out under the load of central air conditioning. Nexis is rated to support whole-home backup including HVAC systems up to 5 tons, so a properly sized system can keep your entire home, air conditioning included, running through an outage instead of forcing you to shed circuits.

Built for Colorado Weather

Nexis is designed with a weather-resistant, flood-ready construction, a real consideration in a state where battery equipment has to handle hail, wide temperature swings, and mountain-adjacent microclimates depending on where you live along the Front Range. We’ll publish full environmental and IP ratings here as soon as SolarEdge releases its final spec sheet.

Pairs With Your Existing SolarEdge System

If your home already runs SolarEdge inverters and optimizers, Nexis is designed to integrate with that same ecosystem and the mySolarEdge monitoring platform, so you’re not managing a second app or a second brand of hardware. If you’re not on SolarEdge yet, Apollo Energy can quote solar and Nexis together as a single system. See our SolarEdge inverter page →

Frequently Asked Questions

When can I actually get a SolarEdge Nexis installed?

SolarEdge has announced Nexis for 2026 but hasn’t released a specific month. Reserving now gets you on Apollo Energy’s early-access list, and we’ll reach out the moment installs open in Colorado.

Does reserving a spot commit me to anything?

No. It’s a no-obligation way to lock in a place in the install queue and receive pricing and incentive information as soon as it’s available.

How much Nexis capacity do I need?

It depends on your home’s size, whether you want to back up HVAC, and your typical outage risk. Reserving includes a free sizing consultation once pricing is final.

Can Nexis work with a solar system I already have?

Yes, if you’re already on SolarEdge. If you have a different inverter brand, we’ll assess compatibility during your consultation.

What’s the real difference between Nexis and Tesla Powerwall 3?

Scalability. Powerwall capacity is fixed per unit; Nexis is a stackable block system that lets you size capacity precisely, from 4.9 kWh up to 78.4 kWh in one system. See the comparison table above.

Will Nexis qualify for the federal tax credit and Colorado incentives?

Battery storage installed with or alongside solar typically qualifies for the 30% federal Investment Tax Credit, plus any applicable Colorado state credits and Xcel Energy storage rebates. We’ll confirm exact eligibility for your project once pricing is set.
